This 5-day adventure takes you through two of Rwanda's most iconic national parks. Beginning with Akagera National Park, where you'll embark on thrilling game drives to spot the Big Five—lions, elephants, buffaloes, leopards, and rhinos—along with giraffes, zebras, and more.You will enjoy a serene boat ride on Lake Ihema, surrounded by diverse wildlife. This journey will also continue in Volcanoes National Park ,a home to the famous mountain gorillas where you will experience a once-in-a-lifetime gorilla trekking adventure, immerse yourself in Rwandan culture, and explore the breathtaking landscapes of the Virunga Mountains. This tour offers a perfect blend of wildlife, nature, and cultural experiences.

Itinerary highlight:

  • Day 1: pickup from Kigali and transfer to Akagera national park
  • Day 2: game drive and boat cruise
  • Day 3: Early Morning Game Drive and Transfer to Musanze city
  • Day 4: gorilla trekking
  • Day 5: dian fossey and transfer back to Kigali

Day 1: Transfer to Akagera for Full-Day Game Drive

After a packed breakfast at the hotel, you will depart for Akagera National Park, a 3-hour drive.You will head at the park reception for registration and a briefing. You will enjoy a full-day game drive, where you will spot animals like giraffes, buffaloes, impalas, zebras, topis, and elephants. After you will have lunch, then continue the game drive. Later return back to the hotel for relaxation and over night stay.

Day 2: Early Morning Boat Cruise and full-Day Game Drive

You will start your day with morning breakfast then head for a boat cruise on Lake Ihema, Rwanda's second-largest lake, known as home to hippos and various aquatic birds. After the cruise, enjoy a full-day game drive through the park, spotting wildlife such as zebras and antelopes. With lunch un route after game drive you will back to hotel for night stay

Day 3: Early Morning Game Drive and Transfer to musanze city

You will start your day with a pre-dawn game drive increasing your chances of spotting rare animals such as leopards, lions, and hyenas. Return to the lodge for breakfast and check out. Depart Akagera National Park and transfer to Musanze for an overnight stay. Meals: Breakfast, Lunch, and Dinner

Day 4: Gorilla Trekking & Iby’Iwacu Village Community Visit

You will enjoy an early morning breathtaking breakfast and prepare for a day of adventure. Pack snacks and bottled water for your trek.

Gorilla Trekking: Head to Kinigi for a briefing on gorilla trekking guidelines. Our expert guide will lead you into the bamboo forest in search of one of Volcanoes National Park’s 13 gorilla families. Once located, you will spend one hour observing and photographing these magnificent creatures.

Community Visit: After the trek, return to the lodge to relax and share your experiences. Later in the evening, embark on a cultural tour of Iby’Iwacu Village, where you’ll gain insight into traditional Rwandan life.

Day 5: dian fossey and transfer back to Kigali

Early morning Visit Ellen DeGeneres Campus of the Dian Fossey Gorilla Fund On your way back, visiting the Ellen DeGeneres Campus of the Dian Fossey Gorilla Fund to learn about ongoing conservation efforts. Have lunch en route at Twin Lakes a local restaurant near the picturesque twin lakes, Burera and Ruhondo then embark to Kigali. Marking the end of your thrilling experience in Kigali.
